About MilnersMutts

As a child, Alison Milner was brought up with several pets including cats, dogs, fish and birds. But her first love is dogs, she became a dog owner 18 years ago, to a beautiful German Shepherd Dog called Tasha, who lived to the ripe old age of 14, she also owned another GSD Charlie who was a gentle giant. Alison now shares her home with two lovely but mad springer spaniels called Benji and Jerry and her newest addition a small mongrel called Pippin.

During her 18 years of dog ownership, she developed a rapport not only with dogs but also with people and although originally trained as an Engineer, she thought this could be put to better use. With her passion for dogs, and with the help of her mentors she has now achieved her ambition to work with animals and in particular dogs full time. Her involvement with dogs has meant she has dealt with nervous dogs, obsessive-compulsive disorders and guarding issues.

Alison has completed an initial 8 week intensive dog training program, followed by a program of assisting/teaching in a real class environment with real dogs and owners, she has also been involved in behavioural 1-2-1 work and has a certificate in Dog psychology.

Alison has completed a first aid for Animals with the College of Animal Welfare and has studied small animal care. She continues to expand her knowledge by taking specialist workshops, seminars and courses in both behaviour and training/handling techniques and is working towards her kennel club accreditation instructor award (KCAI).
